Reshaping Truecaller design
I don’t know If you think my design is better problem-solving or not, but I’m sure it's better than the current truecaller design at some point. I have been working on this for two weeks or three and after that here is the result.
The User and Business Profiles
A new user profile design, I thought it could be a nice idea if the background of the design will tell the whole story. when a person opens the profile then it can tell what type of profile is this, It’s a user profile or a business profile. A gradient background with vibrant colors gives good vibes to the profile. The location of the person is highlighted well in the top tab, also the top section is more clear with the words before they used more wordy ex.

- IDENTIFIED BY TRUECALLE > TRUECALLER IDENTIFIED
In the contact number tab, they used the message button which was unnecessary because it was already available in the top tab so I removed it from the new design and also improved the dual sim calling option in the same tab. adding vertical thin lines makes the design more beautiful.
The call history quick access tab is also improved. I have removed the “view all” option from the bottom and added it in the top right side of the tab and it helped me get the last 4 calls details there also this tab is scrollable which is really helpful if you don't want to open and have a quick check on the last few logs. Adding color and text in the call history tab makes more sense and it’s useful to the users. It really helps if the person wants to know whether the type of call was from call history. they can quickly identify with icons and colors or with the text which is added next to the phone number.
Blocking and Reporting
You see the blocking option is better than before.
I made a couple of color changes, also I have made changes in words so it sounds more natural when you read it.
In the 2nd option, they used a small button on your picture to comment with anonymous mode but it wasn't helpful to the people who are new to the internet or the app. instead I explained at the bottom and made the design clear. I had two options here, 1. Add an anonymous button with a switch icon next to your name or keep it this way, I kept it this way to keep the design clean.
In the current design of truecaller, you have to swipe up to see and select the type of spam option but here you can select the option without swapping up.
- Truecaller only has the 1 option to Block but it’s actually a total mess.
They only give one option for blocking which makes no sense, the app let user report scammers and normal user block options in one button then how are they going to differentiate these two types of people?
For example, If you fought with your partner or a friend and you want to block them they have only 1 option to block them as an option where you report and block scammers. It’s useless if you fight your 10 or 15 friends within a week because you have a bad mood or due to mood swings or it could be any reasons, and they blocked you through the truecaller, It will reflect as a scammer on your profile after a few days of blocking. This is why I added another button which can help people to normal block and report block with 2 different buttons.
I added the options button and added two options there to edit your comment edit or delete which is not there in truecaller and I think It’s necessary.
Call pop-up
The Truecaller “View profile” was bothering me a lot because I wasn’t happy with their new design so I thought to make changes to that. I brainstormed a few ideas they were okay but after a few days I came up with these two buttons, both are the same but it’s there is a small difference in the length of the button. again I moved up the number and the location text below the person name text. I deleted the “NEW” text icon from the Voice button because this feature is not new anymore also they could use “TrueVoice” instead of Voice text because it could tell It’s part of the truecaller feature. Overall this design looks better.
I have made the identifying pop-up smaller. As per my research, I saw that a new generation of young people doesn’t like big pop up on their screens. so I thought let’s make it shorter and keep this as a premium feature. It looks less bulky to the eyes. a few Young people could buy the subscription to avoid the bulky pop-up on their screen in the sale.
OTP & Social Media on Profile
The current OTP pop-up design is kind of big and It’s not eye-catchy. It’s good to have big text but the pop-up is too big. I cropped the size in half on the pop-up and fit everything there. they had “Copy, Mark as read & Dismiss”, a total of 3 buttons but I cut to the 2 numbers only. 1. Read 2. Copy. Dismiss was not needed when you have the read button or swipe to the right from the pop-up, again you will ask why you didn’t add the delete button? well, truecaller has the feature of auto-deleting OTP and spam messages with a specific time period option.
Update: Truecaller has updated their OTP pop-up and It’s looking better.
Social Media: Here is another design idea where users can add up to 4 social media links to their profile, and 5th button will let users report the link if it’s spam in the profile links.
